Adoption Fundraising

Hi, friends!  I've been a little absent from blogland {more on that later}.

Thank you all again for the amazing support of our adoption through our auction!!  I plan to blog {SOON}about how God worked through all of you to show us that He is still 100% behind this adoption!
Anyway, here's the deal: I still have a couple of people that were the high bidders on the auction that I haven't been able to get ahold of.  If you are one of these people {or know how I can contact them}, please send me an E-mail at jnchase311@yahoo.com.  I'd love to get everyone's items to them and get the auction wrapped up! :)

First of all, I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the amazing people who made donations to this auction! Because of their donations, 100% of what you purchase from this auction will go directly into our adoption fund to bring our sweet babe(s) home from Ethiopia.

The auction will run from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd to 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 10th (Central Standard Time).

Well, guess what?!  They are doing a giveaway to draw more people to the site to help us raise money for our adoption!  {Just to jog your memory...we get 50% of the profits from the store's sales in June. :)}

Adoption Rocks




Do you remember my friend Kate from this blog post three months ago (on the day we were placed on the waiting list)?  Well, she ordered one of my adoption rocks shirts for each member of her family!!  This was a super fun order since I got to pick the colors of four of the shirts.  I thought I'd show you this "family" of shirts so you can see the other sizes. :)

T-Shirt Sales Begin Today!

When we first started our adoption process, we began to look for fundraiser ideas.  I truly wish we didn't need to raise funds for our adoption, but, unfortunately, we simply don't have $26,000-30,000 sitting in a savings account.  I wish we did, but we just don't! :(  So, we found several ideas to try {bling shoes, VIP Cards, adoption auction, WOTP Products}; some were successful, some were not, and at this point, we have raised/had donated just over $4,000.  Of course, we're trying to capitalize on the successful fundraisers, and will be holding another auction sometime within the next couple of months. 

But, given that we have changed our preference and that it is likely that our referral will come more quickly than initially anticipated, I felt like we needed to run another fundraiser between now and then.  I made myself this stenciled shirt last fall...

It has been a huge conversation starter and has been a great way to bring orphan awareness to the people in my community.
I love the retro-inspired look and the fact that it is UBER comfy!  The base shirt is made of a 40/60 Cotton/Polyester blend and it is a fitted, V-neck shirt.

During this pre-sale, you may purchase as many of these ultra cool shirts as you'd like for

{will be $22 each after April 8th}
Shirts will be available for pick-up after April 10th or you may pay $2 each for shipping.

Winter Adoption Auction is Over

If you've been following our blog over the last week, you're probably aware that our adoption auction is now closed.  Thank you so, so much for your part in this fundraiser.  Whether you donated, prayed for the auction, or placed a bid, your support of our adoption means SO MUCH to us!  "Thank you" seems inadequate, so please know that our hearts are overwhelmed with your generosity!  We will post a grand total when all the money has been received and the items shipped.

Team Chase's Adoption Auction

It's {finally} here...our first auction to raise money to bring our two little sweeties home from Ethiopia!!

First of all, let me just say a big thank you to those of you who have been followers of this little blog in the last year (we are almost at our one year blogiversary!). Next, a big WELCOME to those of you who are visiting from another blog that you follow. In this blog, I write about adoption, family, crafting, and life in general from my Christian/working mom perspective. :) If you like what you see, feel free to follow...we love friends! :) And, last, but not least, I have to give a shout out to my amazing creative friends and bloggy buddies who donated their goods to make this auction possible...THANK YOU!


So, on to the reason you are here...our Adoption Auction. I am SO excited for this auction! We have been given some awesome donations (mostly handmade!) from some great friends and from people who we've never even met! Here's how the auction will work:

1. Peruse the AWESOME items that are for sale during the auction (January 29th, 2011 at midnight through February 5th, 2011 at 11:59 p.m, central standard time).

2. Find the items you would like to bid on and leave a comment* with your bid, name, and e-mail address. (Your bid on most items will include shipping from Missouri, so please keep that in mind as you place it! :))

3. If you win, I will send you an E-mail requesting payment for the item and/or information about your requests (if the item is custom-made). Upon receiving payment via check or paypal, I will ship the item to you!

That's it...super easy! And, every last penny that you spend will go directly into our adoption fund. Our overall expense is around $30,000. So far we've raised/had donated close to $2,800.  Almost 10%!  We are excited to see where this auction will place us on the financial portion of our adoption road!!

Adoption Auction {Teaser #12}-Final Preview

This is the last preview I am going to do for our adoption auction because tomorrow night, two major events are going to happen in our home. 

First, our kitchen will become a bakery where my sous-chef, Camden, and I will be making five dozen cupcakes for sis' birthday parties on Saturday.  Then, I will be having my own little linky party getting everything linked up for our auction!!  So excited to be at this point.  Don't forget to tell all your friends to come on over to our blog and go bid crazy! :)

Adoption Auction {Teaser #9} + 1 Month Waiting Giveaway!

AND, the second item is made by my darling daughter (with supervision and some help, of course!). 

Melia got an early birthday present when Trev finished her loft bed today.  (This will have a post of its own VERY soon!! :))  Anyway, one of the sides has a built-in bulletin board for her to display all of her beautiful works of art from Kindergarten.  So, I got to thinking that she needed some pretty pushpins to help her hang her work and this idea was born!  She loves to craft as much as I do, I think!  So, she made 5 sets of 12...2 for herself and 3 for me.
