Today's auction preview is dainty and petite!

AND, the second item is made by my darling daughter (with supervision and some help, of course!). 

Melia got an early birthday present when Trev finished her loft bed today.  (This will have a post of its own VERY soon!! :))  Anyway, one of the sides has a built-in bulletin board for her to display all of her beautiful works of art from Kindergarten.  So, I got to thinking that she needed some pretty pushpins to help her hang her work and this idea was born!  She loves to craft as much as I do, I think!  So, she made 5 sets of 12...2 for herself and 3 for me.

SO, in honor of being on the waiting list for one month TODAY, I am giving one set of them away (and putting the other two in the auction which starts Saturday!).

Adoption Auction {Teaser #8}

Snow Day!

We got a music-to-our ears type of call yesterday from the school letting us know that school was cancelled due to the snow.  I cleaned in the morning and then our house became Grand Central Station!  Our friend, Richard, came over to help Trev with Melia's loft bed {can't wait to do that post!!} and brought their son, Kyler.  Kyler, Camden, and Melia had a great time playing, eating pizza for lunch, and watching Monsters vs. Aliens.

Then, at 2:00, my sis came over and brought her three kiddos, my parents came to see all the kids, my sister's kids' social worker came over (along with a social worker in training), and Kyler's mama, Tiffany, came over.  At one point, there were 9 adults and 6 kids at our house!  What a fun day!

So, usually, I am a total baby when it comes to cold weather, but it was pretty nice and sunny outside, so we bundled the kids up (5 of them, anyway), and I went outside and played with them.

Somehow we ended up with two left boots for C!  It didn't slow him down any, though. :)

Melia's ready to go...she totally reminds me of that kid on The Christmas Story in this picture!

We went sledding...

and just genuinely had fun!!

I'm ready for another! :)

Adoption Auction {Teaser #6}

A Surprise in the Mail

Whew!  Today was a busy day!  Sometimes I feel like I have this "working mom" thing down great, and other times, it's tough!  Some days, work takes it out of me and then it feels like I have nothing left to give my poor husband, kiddos, and home.  Good thing they are forgiving and we all work together as a team to make up for my deficiencies!  I really do receive grace from so many different places in my life.

Anyway, today was one of those days.  I got home soooo late this evening, so I was a little discouraged walking into my home.  BUT, when I finally did get home, I saw this on our island...

The envelope was addressed to Trevor and the letter says "Our family has heard that you and Jennifer are wanting to adopt a couple of kids from another country, and God has laid on our heart to help you get to the point that will make this happen.  We know that it can be very expensive and we have also heard that you are trying to do this without adding any debt to your household and we think that is very cool.  So please accept this gift and use it towards the proceeds of the adoption."

How awesome is that?!  God continually shows up to tell us that this adoption is completely in His hands.  He continues to amaze me in how He is providing for us emotionally, spiritually, and financially!

If you are the sweet family that sent this to us, let me just say THANK YOU!  Your generosity means more than we can say.  Thank you for allowing Jesus to shine through your gift. :)

P.S. So far in this journey, our fundraising efforts coupled with generous donations have totalled $2,794.14...that's almost 10% of our total adoption cost!! :)

Adoption Auction {Teaser #5}

Baby, it's cold outside!  Just looking at these items people have hand crocheted and donated for our adoption auction makes me feel warmer! :)
