ETSY + EBAY=Adoption Auction! (Teaser #1)

I am so crazy excited about our upcoming adoption auction!!  It's basically what would happen if ETSY met EBAY and fell in love! 
We have over 50 items that people have donated!!  I cannot even believe all the *rockstar* crafters that have come out and so graciously donated their handmade items.  Some are custom, some are not, but they all are

A.MAZ.ING!!!

So, here's where I get nervous...our auction is exactly two weeks away and will run for one week.  I just want to be sure that I have lots and lots of bidders and

I NEED YOUR HELP! 

Please help me advertise my auction to anyone and EVERYONE that you know!!  You can copy and paste this blog's web address or paste my adoption auction button (to the right of this post) to your facebook, to your blog, to your friends on your e-mail, to your e-mail list at work...whatever you can think to do to help promote would be so so appreciated!!

Then, come back and bid :):):)!!  That's the fun part!!  The auction will run January 29th to February 5th, Saturday to Saturday, midnight to midnight.  You will not want to miss it!

I almost missed it, but I have to say that I am SUPER interested to know who you are!  My stats say we have readers in other countries, even...how cool is that?!  However, I would really like to know who all is reading our lil' old blog!! 

So, here is the question: Do you read my blog?  If so, please just leave me a quick comment to let me know who you are, why you read, if you have a blog, if you are adopting/crafty/a momma/a Christian (what is it about my blog that interests you)?

It'll just take a second.  Click on the link that says "0 comments" (or however many comments there are) and type your comment.  For some reason, you have to hit "post comment" like twice, then do the decoding thing so my blog knows you aren't alphie the robot and then his "post comment" again.  If you don't have a google account, no sweat!  Just use the anonymous option and you're good to go!

Most Likely to....

You know those superlatives for yearbooks (most likely to succeed, etc.)?  Well, if I assigned superlatives to my projects, this one would win the award for most liketly to...

Never Be Repeated!

Let me go back to the beginning.  My husband is SUPER picky.  So, picky, in fact, that I basically never buy him any article of clothing (or anything else) that he has not pointed to specifically and said, "I want one of those."  When we were dating, I made the mistake of picking out things for him and they would hang in his closet with the tag still on them until years later when he'd slip him in the DAV donation bag (yes, I noticed!). 

Anyway, when he asked me to make him something, I was pretty excited about it.  It was kind of a compliment, actually!  So, I said sure, bought some black fleece (from JoAnn's) and found a shirt to upcycle (for the exterior), and set out making his hat today.  It's just a stocking cap and looks pretty simple, but it wasn't!!  It didn't take a long time, but it was kinda hard to figure out.  Several alterations later, here it is...

At least he likes it!

And, he just asked me to make him another with just the fleece.  I guess it needs a new superlative!!



Homemade Pumpkin Spice Creamer

I've been pretty bummed that I didn't stock up on Pumpkin Spice Creamer before Christmas (I wasn't aware that they would stop carrying it so quickly!!).  Anyway, I decided to take matters into my own hands.  I looked up recipes for pumpkin spice creamer and found one I wanted to try.  The problem?  I didn't have half the spices it called for.  So, I just made up my own and it turned out pretty yummy! 

So, if you're missing pumpkin spice like I was, feel free to try this:

1 Cup Non-Dairy Creamer
1/2 Cup Splenda
2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
6 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice

1. Combine well and store in air-tight container.
2. Pair with Just Love coffee from our shop.
3. Pour in mug and set on your new damask coaster.

**Obviously the last two steps are optional! ;)
